2020 Vision 2009 Industry Tour
Twenty four young farmers and agribusiness representatives from BCG's 2020 Vision group and Southern Farming Systems set off on Wednesday 22 July on a study tour. The three day tour, aimed specifically at young people aged 18 - 35 gave participants the opportunity to learn more about the diverse sectors of agriculture.

Participants took turns writing the key learnings of activities in a learning diary.
Some of the key learnings included:
- Be proactive. If change is needed, instigate it.
- Having interests in more the one industry spreads your risk.
- Malt houses have high standards for barley so we can have good beer.
- Ryegrass can be beneficial.
- Talk to other farmers, chances are they will have similar problems to yours.
- Know what's going on in the agricultural industry locally, nationally and internationally.
