BCG Timeline

1993

A committee of ten farmers initiates The Birchip Cropping Demonstration Sites (BCDS).

Ian McClelland is appointed Chairman and Peter Mann is employed as Technical Officer.

Very clear lessons in weed control and possible crop types for the district are learned from trial work conducted at two sites, on the properties of John Jones and Trevor Grogan.

Our first field day is a roaring success with over 500 people in attendance.
