The BCG Grains Research Expo is shaping up to be one of the biggest agricultural events for the region this year. The theme of the Expo is 'Decisions into Dollars' - increasing profitability by $10/ha. This theme has been inspired by the BCG farmer committee who understand that 2007 is a big year for farmers across the region to maximise opportunities after a series of dry years. Local farmers get behind BCG Grains Research Expo
The latest agricultural research from around Australia relating to improving farm profitability will be a key element of the event ($80 million up for grabs!). The Expo will be the perfect place for farmers to access relevant information from seasonal weather forecasting, crop nutrition and disease management, grain marketing, the latest in precision agriculture technology, herbicide resistance management, new cereal and pulse varieties and much, much more. All of this information will be available to growers under the one roof. A feature of the day is that all exhibitors have been asked to prepare strategies on how their work or research will contribute to increasing farmers' profitability by $10/ha in 2007. BCG banks on a bumper year
Farmers are encouraged to come along and catch up one-on-one or in small groups with individual researchers and exhibitors. BCG staff will be available all day to help farmers track down the particular information they are after. This day provides a unique opportunity for farmers across the region to access targeted information put together especially for them.
BCG encourages all farmers to come to the Expo and take advantage of the intelligence and industry knowledge available which will help improve profitability by $10/ha.
As per tradition, BCG will be hosting an industry dinner on the evening prior to the Expo on Wednesday 4 July which everybody is welcome to attend. It is sure to be a sensational night of socialising, entertainment and fun. Dinner bookings can be made by contacting the BCG office.
