Local Mallee and Wimmera farmers are looking forward to the 12th annual BCG Grains Research Expo to be held next month in Birchip, Thursday 5 July 2007 at the Birchip P-12 School.

Birchip farmer Danny Lowry said, "The BCG Expo is a fantastic event for everyone involved in farming. No other farming community can boast over 80 agricultural researchers from across Australia, coming to their own backyard. As farmers, we know that to get the most out of this year, we need to be making good decisions, and in order to make good decisions we need good information - that is what the BCG Grains Research Expo provides. I'll be there for sure."

"Farming involves the constant uptake of information. To be able to catch up with the top researchers on issues such as crop disease management and herbicide resistance right here in Birchip is absolutely huge," said Kinnabulla farmer, Lachlan Barber. "I always come to the Expo; I make it a priority."

The event starts with breakfast at 9am and finishes at 4pm. For BCG members, entry is free. Non-members can enter for $20 or join up for membership on the day. BCG encourages all farmers to come to the Expo and take advantage of the intelligence and industry knowledge available.

As per tradition, BCG will be hosting an industry dinner on the evening prior to the Expo, Wednesday 4 July 2007, which everybody is welcome to attend. Dinner bookings can be made by contacting the BCG office on 03 5492 2787.
