Don’t be a drifter!
Reduce drift, get better application and save money. BCG invite farmers and advisors to come to the Advanced Spray Management and Dye Night Workshop on April 8 and 9 at the BCG. Presented by Craig Day and Peter O’Connor, the workshop will be delivered over two days—an afternoon/evening session on April 8 starting at 1pm and a morning session on April 9. The workshop will include a chemical coverage demonstration using fluro dye and UV light and will give participants the opportunity to calibrate their own spray unit.
The workshop will cover a whole range of issues including but not restricted to: drift, importance of adjuvants, understanding target complexities, time of application, weather conditions including consideration of deltaT, direction, temperature, inversion, buffers and chemical sensitive areas, affect of water quality on chemical, spray quality/droplet size requirements for different products and targets, machinery set up, calibration and operation.
It is a program that will equip farmers with the skills and knowledge to ensure best practice in spray application, minimising costs and drift.
The workshop, supported by the Grains Industry Training Network (GITN), DPI and AFSC will cost $55 per person.
For more information and to book into the workshop contact Fiona at the BCG office on (03) 5492 2787. Limited places available.
