Understanding Your Soil Test Results workshops were a success
|
As part of the Healthy Soils for Sustainable Farms project, BCG ran three successful Understanding Your Soil Test Results workshops at Warracknabeal and Beulah on Wednesday 1 April and Quambatook on Thursday 2 April. Working through their own soil test results farmers learned first hand how to calculate moisture figures and fertiliser requirements. Many farmers agreed that understanding their test results helped them determine which of their paddocks would be the most responsive to fertiliser. This gave farmers needing to reduce fertiliser applications, an idea of where their money will be best spent in 2009. Brooke White presenting at the |

A participating advisor was pleased they’d made time to attend: “It was a great refresher and encouraging to know I’m on the right track.”
BCG will conduct several different workshops over the coming months. Possessing healthy soils is necessary to achieve efficient water filtration and profitable and sustainable crop production.
