2020 Vision Industry Tour
Last Sunday twenty young farmers and agribusiness representatives from across the Wimmera and Mallee headed down to Melbourne for an industry tour as part of BCG’s 2020 Vision initiative. The 2020 Vision group was formed by BCG in 1998 to assist young people living and working in rural communities to stay passionate and informed about the industry in which they work. This trip to Melbourne included tours of the Nufarm chemical plant, the Port of Melbourne’s Swanston Dock and Port Facilities and Fosters brewery. The group also met with Andrew Hay, the head lamb buyer with the Coles Group, and headed to the footy to watch Richmond defeat Essendon at the MCG. The trip was a roaring success with plenty of socialising and fun included in the mix. Proud supporters of the tour included the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR), ABN Amro Morgan, Rabobank, Nufarm, the Port of Melbourne and the Coles Group.
