Women talk sowing
|
30 women attended BCG’s first Women’s Agronomy Group workshop for 2009, held on Thursday 23 April. The women participated in an informative discussion about sowing. Presented by Fiona Best, topics covered: calculating phosphorus requirements, seeding rates, new varieties, and how to conduct germination tests. The workshop provided participants with valuable hands on experience, giving them confidence to contribute to current farming decisions. Corks were popped and glasses clinked at lunch with the workshop proving to be not only an excellent environment for learning but also for networking. Participants enjoy lunch. |

Attendee Robyn Ferrier commented: “Days like today are a fantastic way for rural women to come together and gain a better understanding of the science behind cropping systems. It’s also a great day out which cements it as a must-do in my calendar.”
The second Women’s Agronomy Group workshop for 2009 will be held on Wednesday 17 June 2009. For more information please contact Margaret O’Keefe on (03) 5492 2787.
