The day commenced in the classroom at the BCG office before participants moved to the paddock for some hands-on learning. It was a fantastic opportunity for the women involved to gain a better understanding of the issues and complexities surrounding sowing.

Kate McCormick (pictured left) from John Stuchbery and Associates addressed topics including sowing rates, sowing depth and soil moisture.

A campfire lunch followed in a patch of remnant vegetation on the property of Leigh and Julie Weir's, after which, Jon Starks, an ecologist with BCG, spoke on the Diversity in a Piped System project (pictured right).

The Women's Agronomy Group meets every second month with the next meeting scheduled for the Thursday 19 July 2007.
