Growth, Adoption, Productivity and Profitability (GAPP) Initiative (2014-2017)

The outcome of this project was to improve farm productivity and profitability through the adoption of technologies and practices. The initiative also aimed to determine if a new model for agricultural RD&E could stimulate adoption, enhance capability and improve outcomes for farmers in local communities. The project was funded in collaboration with the State Government via Agriculture Victoria and aimed to match BCG membership dollars for three years.

GRDC Pulse Extension (2017-2020)

The aim of this project is to build capacity, skills and knowledge for the pulse industry in the Southern Region: Supporting expansion of high value pulses into new areas and ensuring sustained profitability of all key pulse crops in existing areas. Activities include; Pulse Crop Walks and Pulse webinar series.

Managing Climate Variability (2016-2020)

An extension activity of this project is the creation of the climate tool ‘Climate Kelpie’. Climate Kelpie connects Australian farmers and their advisors to tools and information about climate to help make better decisions about farm business. BCG provides project management and extension services for this project, writing content and managing social media to keep our audience engaged. This project is funded by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources and is managed by Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA).

ForeWarned is ForeArmed (2018-2021)

This project equips farms and agriculture value chains to proactively manage the impacts of extreme climate events. It provides options for a range of farm level and agricultural industry operational and investment decisions, as well as decreasing the impacts of extreme climate on farm and industry profit. This project is funded by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources and is managed by Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA).
