DESCRIPTION:Successful crop establishment is crucial to success of the crop for the season… \n  \nJoin BCG in a day looking to unpack seeder performance and how to set your crop up for success. Topics to be covered include: \n\nSeeder and air cart setup and performance\nSeed Bed Utilisation – fertiliser toxicity\, key considerations\nCrop establishment fundamentals\nManaging residue\, current research and making the most of opportunities\nFinancial considerations -balancing costs with outcomes\n\nBCG will be joined by industry experts to discuss how to make the most of this seeding season. \nPresenters include:\nBrett Asphar – specialist in air cart setup and will discuss fundamentals of seeder bar function \nDan Toohey (Planfarm Advisory) – financial consideration in seeding equipment\, modify\, upgrade or improve outcomes with what you have – what is crop establishment really costing you? \nKelly Angel (BCG) and Ash Wallace (Ag Vic.) – Crop establishment fundamentals\, what does the research say? \nDiscussion from local farmers and participants \n  \nA selection of local farmer seeding setups of different ages will be on display and discussed. \nProject Activities Funded by GRDC \nFor further information or if you would like input into the day contact Kelly Angel (BCG) 0427 564 507 \n  \nCONTINGENCY PLAN IN PLACE FOR BAD WEATHER/UNSUITABLE PADDOCK CONDITIONS – Fundamentals covered in suitable location (farm shed)\, working demonstration will drop from program.
