Views

We welcome Ashlee Tierney to the team as Research Agronomist! We interviewed Ash so you can begin to get to know her.

What is your background?

I’m from Birchip and completed a Bachelor of Agricultural Science / Commerce at La Trobe University, Bundoora. Prior to starting full time at BCG I was working here as a casual as well as having worked at GrainFlow.

What is your role at BCG and what will you be doing?

My role at BCG is a Research Agronomist and I will be taking on a couple of trials to manage as well as assisting the rest of team with their projects.

What about the role interested you in applying?

Growing up in Birchip I’ve seen the work that BCG does and the reputation it has in the region and I’m excited about the opportunity to use my degree to contribute to that. Having already worked with the team in a casual role I can see that BCG is a great place to work and I was keen to become a full-time member of the team.

What are your interests outside work?

Outside of work I enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes, playing netball for the Bulls, travelling overseas and in Australia when I get the chance and when the weather warms up having a BBQ and ski at Tchum lake.

What are you looking forward to whilst working at BCG?

I’m looking forward to working with the team at BCG and drawing on their experiences to increase my knowledge of all things agricultural research. I’m also looking forward to chatting with farmers to understand what their needs are and being able to conduct trials to support these.
