Meet the Team: Brooke Bennett

Views

BCG is pleased to announce Brooke Bennett as our new operations manager. We have interviewed Brooke so you can follow her BCG journey.

What is your background?

I have worked at BCG for the past five years. I started in a graduate research officer position. Prior to this I studied Agriculture Science at La Trobe University and grew up on a sheep farm in central Victoria.

What is your role at BCG and what will you be doing?

I have just started in the Operations Manager role which involves coordinating the trial operations across our 30 trial sites in the Mallee, Wimmera and North Central regions.

What about the role interested you in applying?

This role is a great next step for me, I’ve had experience managing individual trials and projects but this will provide a challenge for me to manage the logistics of our huge trial program. I obviously also know how great the team is here at BCG so I’m excited to continue working with them in this new position.

What are your interests outside work?

I am still quite involved in my parents’ sheep farm in central Vic so I can quite often be found marking lambs or shearing on a weekend. I also enjoy running and hiking.

What are you looking forward in your new role?

When I first started at BCG I answered this question with “I am excited to learn about the opportunities and challenges facing farmers in this area”. Now I would say I’m looking forward to being able to continue helping growers face these challenges and opportunities through ensuring we are providing high quality trials and research results.
