The last BCG Board meeting for 2017 coincided with the annual general meeting where we sadly fare-welled Dr. Sara Hely from the Board who resigned a result of increasing work commitments (DEDJTR). Sara brought a new perspective to BCG with a strong background in grains research and development with GRDC and the Victorian State Government. Sara’s project and managerial experience enabled her to contribute well to discussions on project development, our new strategic plan, as well as the emerging field of AgTech. The fellow Board members will miss her enthusiastic and thoughtful insights, and wish her all the best.
Sara’s replacement as the fourth co-opted specialist on the BCG board is a face familiar to many having worked for BCG for 10 years. Simon Craig is now the Managing Director and owner of consultancy business Agronomise, and a partner and lead consultant for Farm360, both based in Swan Hill. Simon will attend his first board meeting in February and BCG is looking forward to him contributing with his strong understanding of the consultancy sector, agronomy and farm management, and of course, BCG.
Simon will join farmer directors Alan Bennett, Leo Delahunty, John Ferrier, Brad Martin, Ian McClelland, Cherie Reilly and Caroline Welsh, and our other co-opted specialists Zvi Hochman (CSIRO), Peter Myers and David Hudson (SGS Consulting).
