BCG is inviting advisers to BCG Industry Day, which due to the COVID-19 restrictions has been postponed from Wednesday 28th July until Wednesday the 4th August. The event, to be held at BCG’s Main Research Site at Watchupga will provide agricultural advisers with a first look at the latest local agronomic research.
BCG Senior Extension and Communication Manager Tom Draffen said the day provides an excellent professional development opportunity: “Advisers are encouraged to register as a group as soon as possible to take advantage of this independent, interactive, development opportunity with in-paddock demonstrations, presentations and Q&A with industry representatives and BCG staff.”
The event, which runs from 1.30pm to 4.00pm, will focus on the latest chemistry advances, demonstrating these products in the paddock and providing the opportunity for attendees to hear directly from representatives from ADAMA, AGT, Bayer and FMC how these new chemistries fit into growers’ systems as well as chemical advances on the horizon.
“BCG will also present on the organisation’s pre-emergent herbicide matrix trial,” said Mr Draffen. “A range of crop types have been sown and different pre-emergent herbicides applied so that attendees can visually see where each product has a fit and where it should not be used. Being out in the paddock—being able to touch these results—it’s really an invaluable learning experience not-to-be-missed,” Mr Draffen finished.
Registration is essential. Growers are also invited to attend. To register for BCG Industry Day on Wednesday 28th of July, visit: bcg.org.au/events/bcg-industry-day/ or call (03) 5492 2787.
