Australian Women in Agriculture (AWiA) Conference

An exciting opportunity exists for two female BCG members to attend the 2018 Australian Women in Agriculture (AWiA) Conference, to be held in Shepparton from the 17th to 19th of August. This will be the third year this has activity has been offered, generously sponsored by our Gold Corporate Partner, Rural Bank.

AWiA was founded in 1998 and is Australia’s peak organisation for women from across all sectors of agriculture. The conference will bring farmers and industry representatives from across Australia together to focus on the conference theme of ‘looking back, looking forwards’ which celebrates the past, present and future of Australian Women in Agriculture.

BCG’s engagement and member services manager, Louisa Ferrier, attended the 2017 event with BCG members Kate Cowan and Cara Hadzig.

“The conference was an exceptional experience for networking, meeting influential and empowering women and discussing critical topics imperative for rural living,” she said.

“Understanding the roles and influence of women in agriculture is a strong focus for Rural Bank and we are excited to support members of BCG to attend the AWiA’s national conference, which has this topic at its very core,” Rural Bank Regional Manager Agribusiness Wimmera and Mallee Greg Kuchel explained.

To register your interest, tell us in 250 words or less why you’d like to attend and send your response to [email protected] by next Friday the 13th of July. Winning applicants will be selected by a Rural Bank representative and notified on Wednesday the 18th of July.
