Fiona Best recognised for excellence

Fiona Best, BCG Extension Coordinator, has been awarded the 2007 APEN (Australia Pacific Extension Network) Young Professional Award for Excellence in Extension.

The award, sponsored by RIRDC, recognises demonstrated excellence in extension through a work program completed within the last five years. Ms Best has demonstrated a high level of extension leadership and innovation in her six years with BCG and is described as a fantastic ambassador for extension in agriculture.

“Fiona has demonstrated an outstanding ability to effectively deliver information to a broad range of audiences within the farming community that are timely, relevant and applicable” said BCG CEO Alexandra Gartmann, “Her vibrant personality combined with an intense passion for the grains industry has seen her set new extension benchmarks”.

Ms Best is attributed with strengthening the mix and targeting of communication and extension approaches within BCG and for developing a formidable network.

The Award was presented in Canberra during the National APEN Forum on 6th November.
