BCG – Cancellation of face-to-face events (for now)

Views

Following the advice from the Victorian DHHS – BCG employees are working from home over the next six weeks, wearing our masks in the office, and ensuring that all our staff are compliant with the restrictions.

We’re proud to see our community doing their part to keep others safe.

What it means for our extension program is that we are limited in the events we can undertake – for the next six weeks at least. In addition to the unfortunate, but necessary, cancellation of the Main Field Day for 2020, in line with the new Victorian COVID-19 regulations there will be no in-person BCG events held until the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services deems it is safe to do so.

We’ve made this decision to protect the community and our staff. We are committed to improving the prosperity of farmers and agricultural communities through farmer-driven innovation, research and extension.

BCG will endeavor to continue to provide members with an opportunity to look at, learn from and interact with our trial sites, but this year it will be done differently.

It is BCG’s intention to continue undertaking information delivery methods such as webinars, online workshops, video presentations, online crop walks and more. This unique opportunity may even lead to more of these delivery methods being incorporated into our regular extension activities.
