The event brings together growers, advisers and researchers to review 2025 trial results and consider how those findings apply to on farm decisions for the 2026 season.
This year’s program will focus on decision making in a higher cost farming environment, with trials covering topics including crop varieties, nutrition and disease. Economist, Professor Bill Malcolm and Professor Richard Eckard will also feature on the agenda, contributing perspectives on farm business performance, risk and sustainability.
BCG Chief Executive Officer, Fiona Best said the day provided growers with access to independent, locally generated research to support practical, evidence– based decision making. “Trials Review Day gives growers the opportunity to step back from the previous season, review trial outcomes and consider how those results translate into real business decisions,” Best said. Despite challenging seasonal conditions in 2025, many areas achieved average yields, highlighting the importance of reliable local research in supporting risk management.
Trials Review Day is a long running BCG event and forms a key part of the organisation’s research and extension calendar.
