How to conduct a germination test

What is the viability and vigour of your seed that was harvested after the rain? Do you know what your seeding rate should be?

Having your seed tested for germination will help answer some of these questions. You can either send a sample away to a laboratory for testing or do it yourself. There are a few methods available for how to conduct a germination test including using soil or paper towel. BCG have published an easy to use germination testing procedure using the paper towel methodology.
