Mallee and Wimmera growers have an opportunity to get on top of their grain storage plans this harvest by hearing the latest information at two free workshops in Sea Lake and St. Arnaud as part of the GRDC’s Grain Storage Extension Project.
Primary Business consultant, Chris Warrick, will provide an update on preventing insects and effectively managing them if they do appear; managing grain storage over long periods of time, and how to make improvements and upgrades leading into harvest.
“So much effort goes into producing your crop through the season. Small improvements to the way you manage your grain storage can make maintain the quality of your grain and protect all your hard work”, said Mr Warrick.
“These small, hands-on workshops allow us to get into specific grain storage challenges and issues from managing existing storage, right through to planning for new investments,” he said.
The Sea Lake workshop will be held at Tyrell Park (188 Harrisons Road, Sea Lake) from 9:30am until 11:30am on 9 October, and the St. Arnaud workshop will be held at Batters Farm (894 St Arnaud – Wycheproof Road, Sutherland) from 8:30am until 10:30am on 10 October.
