BCG is delighted to welcome Caitlin Cavanagh to the team as a research agronomist!

What is your background?
I grew up in Western Sydney and completed Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at the University of Sydney. Since finishing uni in 2019, I have spent my time working on cropping farms, before starting my research career in Horsham at the end of 2022.

What is your role at BCG and what will you be doing?
My role at BCG is a Research Agronomist, working with the team to deliver high quality trials that are relevant to our members.

What about the role interested you in applying?
I thoroughly enjoyed the work involved in being a research agronomist at my previous job. I knew I wanted to continue on this path and BCG’s strong reputation and involvement in the local community drew me to the role.

What do hope to achieve in your role?
I hope to further expand my knowledge and skills in research. I also hope to better understand our local farmers and their production challenges.

What are your interests outside work?
I enjoy camping, reading, and playing netball for Donald.

What are you looking forward to whilst working at BCG?
I’m looking forward to working in a big team and learning from the crew. I’m also looking forward to interacting with farmers, advisors and other researchers at BCG’s many events throughout the year.
