BCG is delighted to welcome Steve Nottle to the team as the Laboratory Manager.
What is your background?
I’m originally from Rosebud (Mornington Peninsula). We moved to Birchip two years ago to be with my wife Bridget’s family. Before working at BCG, I was the barista at the local café (O’Donnell’s) and prior to moving to Birchip I worked as a sales manager for Vodafone.
What is your role at BCG and what will you be doing?Â
With the scope and breadth of BCG’s research continuing to expand, my role as laboratory manager will organise, direct and coordinate a range of activities in the lab, supporting researchers and ensuring tests are completed on time.
What about the role interested you in applying?
BCG has such a great reputation both in the community and across the region. A town like Birchip has agriculture running through its veins so when I saw the opportunity to become involved, contribute and connect with the farmer and industry seized it.
What are your interests outside work?
When I’m not kicking goals for the mighty Bulls on the weekend, I enjoy a variety of things. Sport, live music, love going to the cinema, beach (which is a bit of hike these days) and attending any social event, I’m usually there. I love getting out and about, I’m not a believer that you can be ever bored. I also love spending time with my two ragamuffins Rudy and Beatrix and my wife Bridget.
What are you looking forward to whilst working at BCG?
Looking forward to getting involved in the agriculture industry, which is a completely new, but exciting world to me and working with a great team… oh and the Christmas party!
