The Birchip Cropping Group Inc. (BCG) invites expressions of interest from individuals for appointment to the Board.
BCG is a national leader in farmer-driven, agronomic research and extension. BCG is focused on improving the prosperity of Australian broadacre farmers through independent, science-based research, and extension, and assisting farmers to face new challenges to ensure that the sector can thrive as a vibrant primary industry. It is a not-for-profit, member based organisation based in the Victorian Wimmera and Mallee regions.
Preference will be given to applicants with relevant experience on boards and knowledge in agribusiness, strategic planning and marketing, particularly in the grains industry. Connections with the commercial sector, higher education or precision agriculture communities may be an advantage.
Excellent communication skills and strategic thinking are required as well as the ability to work cooperatively with other Board members. This is a rare opportunity to join a well established and successful research and extension organisation.
