Meet the Team: Angus Butterfield

BCG is pleased to welcome its newest team member Angus Butterfield. Angus hails from Diamond Creek and has recently completed a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and Technology at Latrobe University.

What is your role at BCG and what will you be doing?

I will join the team as a Research Agronomist. I will be supporting the team with delivering trials. Some of the specific projects that I’ll be involved in are Fodder for the Future and canola research.

What about the role interested you in applying?

I’m really interested in the science of plants and soil. The more I learn, the more it draws me in! BCG therefore feels like the right fit for me. The name also attracted me. BCG is a highly respected, national organisation so I felt it was the perfect place to start my career.

What are your interests outside work?

I enjoy playing footy, camping and fishing.

What are you looking forward to whilst working at BCG?

I’m looking forward to being hands-on, out in the field, doing the trials, getting the results, being able to interpret them and communicate the findings to growers. I’m particularly interested in innovation so I’m also looking forward to meeting farmers, hearing their stories and challenges and finding out what technological advances they are looking for next.
