Meet the Team: Samantha Kemp

Views

BCG is pleased to welcome Samantha Kemp to the team as Program Coordinator Extension and Engagement

Where are you from? How long have you been in the area? Previous roles, expertise?

I grew up on a family farm at Quambatook. My parents Ian and Michelle Baker and younger brother Jack Baker run the family farm (grains and hay).

I have just recently sold my own business in Swan Hill after 11 years. Navigating a small business through COVID wasn’t easy that’s for sure. I love connecting with people and creating new relationships and like challenging myself as I feel there’s always room to grow and learn. Being part of a team like BCG is also so great!

What is your role at BCG and what will you be doing?

My role at BCG will be to manage corporate partnerships and sponsorship and focus on building new and existing relationships. I will be helping the communication and extension team where I can too. I’m excited about my new role here at BCG!

What are your interests outside work?

My interests out of work are spending time with my kids and my husband Jarrod. I enjoy exercising, coffee and being outside and/or helping Jarrod on the farm, taking the kids on the header and tractors and spending time with our families who are close by.

What are you looking forward to whilst working at BCG?

I hope to meet all our partners at BCG and form some great relationships to work together to benefit farmers and communities.

What do you enjoy about living in the area?

I like the area so much and the lifestyle of living on the land that I didn’t see myself living away for too long after studies. I have only moved 30 minutes down the road from where I grew up and married a farmer, Jarrod Kemp who farms at Nullawil. We have two children Piper and Daisy who have recently started kinder and day care in Birchip. We are supported by a great community and we have made some great friends.
