BCG are delighted to welcome Isabella Atkins to the team!
What is your background?Â
I am born and raised in Melbourne, but much of my extended family still lives rurally and works in agriculture, so naturally, my first job out of school was working on a farm out of Geelong. I enjoyed it so much that enrolled in a Bachelor of Agriculture majoring in Agronomy at Melbourne University.
What is your role at BCG and what will you be doing?
At BCG I am a Research Agronomist, and my role is in conducting trials and helping the team with their research.
What about the role interested you in applying?
I’ve always been passionate about the sharing of knowledge, and I appreciate how important this is in agriculture, so BCG seemed like the perfect company to apply for. I know how much my family relies on appreciates the work that companies like BCG do, so this role and this company seemed an obvious choice for me.
What are your interests outside work?
Outside of work, I enjoy playing social sports like netball and a bit of horse riding when I can. Spending time with my family and close friends is also important to me, and I especially enjoy time spent travelling with them. I also love absolutely anything involving animals.
What are you looking forward to whilst working at BCG?
I’m looking forward to working with a great team of passionate people in such a supportive environment. Being able to spend time with farmers and learning about what they do and how we can help them in order to create a positive impact in the Mallee and beyond will also be something to look forward to for me.
