Meet the Team: Lucy Giles

Lucy has recently joined the BCG team and we are thrilled to have her on board!

What is your background?

I’m from Hurstbridge, in the outskirts of northeast Melbourne. I studied a Bachelor of Agriculture at The University of Melbourne and completed a semester of uni up at Dookie College near Shepparton. Prior to starting at BCG, I took a gap year and travelled/worked in America for 5 months.

What is your role at BCG and what will you be doing?

My role at BCG is Research Agronomist and I will be managing a variety of trials across the research program, delivering high quality and relevant research to the region.

What about the role interested you in applying?

I have always been interested in agriculture and research, and this job involves both those things. I’ve always been a strong believer that farmers are some of the most important members of our community- without them we all go hungry, so this role is my way of contributing to their important work.

What are your interests outside work?

I love baking, camping, hiking and travelling overseas.

What are you looking forward to whilst working at BCG?

I look forward to meeting lots of growers and making a meaningful contribution to the agricultural industry so that it can continue to thrive year after year.
