About us
Birchip Cropping Group Inc. (BCG) is a leader in applied grains research. Based in the heart of the Wimmera Mallee and North Central farming regions, BCG was established in 1992 by a group of farmers determined to have ongoing access to locally relevant grains research. BCG is now nationally recognised and respected for delivery of high quality, independent, applied science-based research and extension.

Qualifications, experience and personal attributes

- Enjoy working with farmers and agricultural researchers
- Formal qualifications in agriculture or related discipline
- Manual driver licence
Tasks & responsibilities
- Assist with the delivery of relevant research project deliverables to achieve project
objectives - Assist with planning, preparing, monitoring, measuring, recording, and reporting research
trial developments - Support the delivery of in-paddock trials including site preparation, management and
harvesting - Assist with project reporting requirements and writing scientific reports
- Assist with writing and/or research of articles and other communications
- Promote BCG capabilities to research networks, industry, BCG members and other farmers
- Support extension activities through written mediums or verbal presentations
- A willingness to actively engage in conversation with farmers and researchers to ensure relevant research
work is being undertaken across the Wimmera Mallee region
