What is your background?Â
My name is Jenna, and I live in Birchip. I just completed Year 12 at Birchip P-12 school, where I was involved in volunteering at breakfast club, as well as the school swimming program. I play and coach netball, and love being involved in the community.Â
What is your role at BCG?Â
My role at BCG is a harvest casual, which involves working in the lab, conducting grain analysis tests, cleaning and weighing grain samples.Â
What about the role interested you in applying?Â
I was interested in learning more about the agricultural industry surrounding Birchip, as it’s an industry that keeps the town thriving and there’s so much science that goes into it.Â
What are you looking forward to whilst working at BCG?Â
I’m looking forward to working with the energised BCG team and meeting new people whilst learning more about the research lab environment. I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far.Â
What are your interests outside of work?Â
Outside of work I enjoy being active! I love playing netball and tennis, and I also enjoy going for walks and runs. I also like to paint in my free time.Â
What’s next for you?Â
I’m hoping to go to university in Melbourne to study speech pathology, which is a four year degree. I want to become a speech pathologist and work with kids – I am grateful to have had some experience working in the industry already and I’m excited to pursue this dream.Â
