Meet the Team: Zoe Wilson

Zoe joined the BCG team as a Harvest Casual in the 2024 harvest period and we are thrilled to share she has now come on board full time as a Research Agronomist!

What is your background?

I grew up spending time between Robinvale and Ouyen, being involved in both of my parents’ family farms. I decided I wanted to work in agriculture after attending Yanco Agricultural High school and followed on with studying a Bachelor of Agriculture, majoring in Production Animal Science at the University of Melbourne, predominantly based at the Dookie Campus.

What is your role at BCG and what will you be doing?

My role at BCG is Research Agronomist. This year I am managing a variety of different trials and hoping to learn the ropes under the guidance of some more experienced members of the team. Outside of my own projects I will be assisting the other members of the team.

What about the role interested you in applying?

I entered the agriculture space knowing I wanted to help farming communities, particularly those in the area like my own family, get the most they can out of their businesses. After working at BCG as a Harvest Casual I saw the impact they had and how their values aligned with my own, this made me keen to become a full-time member of the team.

What are your interests outside work?

My biggest interests are animals and sport. I am involved in our family’s merino stud and love getting out and about to shows and events, I also have two horses at home who I like to get back to when I can to ride and hang out with. I love playing netball and getting involved in the community as well as training for long distance running events.

What are you looking forward to whilst working at BCG?

I am excited to learn about research agronomy and agriculture in the local area on a practical scale. I am looking forward to working with the team and using my degree to have an impact and assist farmers.
